Winter roads
That most do fear
Long black nights
That never end
Those dirty dangerous areas
Where others never tread
Separated from family
And friends
Lost in the background
Of daily life
Taken for granted
By one and all
While people commute in cars
Delivered
Grocery shop in stores
Stocked
Everything in a normal life
Is touched by
Those that ride
The endless road
The photo is interstate 80 in Wyoming a route I used hundreds of time
Tribute to your miles. Very interesting Robert

I often think of those heroic drivers. Some huge trucks travel the narrow winding steep mountainous road to Tofino which is a nightmare for big rigs, especially in winter. There are often accidents where the semi has tipped over. Just to keep our one grocery store's shelves stocked.
ReplyDeleteNice to honor the road you've travelled.
ReplyDeleteA fine tribute. I get the sence that these deliverers are giving up a lot to brave the night. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteNot quite as much snow in Australa but endless country roads, with heat, dust and kangaroos for the road trains to encounter.
ReplyDeleteA good tribute to the wayfarer and the path.....
ReplyDeleteA road much travelled!

The respect accorded can enhance road safety in those cold winter nights!

I'm coning back as a truck driver....beautiful scenery....great music...time to mentally create poems...ponder the great philosophical questions....Great job for the right person.
ReplyDeleteThat endless road...that allows you to observe life. I love the view.
ReplyDeleteWe forget (but you remind us) how much we owe to those who transport our goods to us. Thanks!
